      Back at it!!!

Hello fellow reefers!!!! A couple years ago I broke down my Leemar 120 and have missed this hobby ever since. At the beginning of this year I have been slowly gathering things together for my way back into the hobby. Due the the recent events I have a little break from work and have been in the lab building my sump.

I am planning to go with either a 120 or 150. But have been leaning towards a 150 gallon with a ghost overflow. I will update as I go along and build certain components. Please chime in with any suggestions or comments. I always enjoy learning something new in this hobby.

Here’s my sump build. 40 gallon breeder.

      Wow, nice DIY sump build!
I have a 120g w/ the synergy ghost, bean animal drain, and I'm glad I went that route, but in all honesty when I got the ghost it was a little more flimsy than expected, wonder how long it will really last.
I think there are better overflow boxes out there, maybe look around.
Fiji cube and eshops eclipse are catching my eye right now.
      Welcome back!

What’s up Dave. Glad to hear from you. Are you still at the home with the pond? I remember picking up something from you a while back. It’s been a long time.

I was looking at the Synergy Overflows and they recently came out with a new version. Do you think that the Synergy overflows will eventually fail? I will definitely will look into others and see what’s out there.

They sold the house I was renting w/ the pond!
      I'm in Esco now.
I took extra measures to secure the plumbing to my stand so I never torque on it or anything, that was my main concern as I used all schedule 80 and gate valves and it weighs a little, and I did not want any wiggle that could crack the box.
I'm not sure what the new ones are like, but the ones I mentioned seem to have thicker acrylic that I think might last longer.
I know some other people on here went w/ the 2 I mentioned, maybe they will chime in on that.

As I wait for my upgrade to the 150. I started a 20L at the beginning of quarantine. Just to hold me over until things start to get back to somewhat normal. Here are some shots of the 20 GAL. Let me know what you think.

Good to hear you're getting back in the hobby. I was looking to install a ghost overflow on a new build, but went a different route, so just sold my unused ghost overflow for $120.
