      Too many feather dusters?

Is it possible to have too many feather dusters? I must have over 200 in my sump

Wow, never seen that many in sump before, but typically feather dusters are filter feeders and beneficial, so unless you think they could clog anything or just look ugly no need to remove IMO

Neat Harris! I’ll take a couple~ Super cool. +1 on not an issue til they clog something- being filter feeders it might be bc your feeding more than the tank needs so if they start to die off you’d want to remove them before they become more phos but alive they’re a help til they’re not.

Yeh..I thought they were really cool until it occurred to me that I had "too many". I honestly, don't feel like I feed too much (anymore). 2 to 3 cubes a day. Let me know you want any. They wont grow in my DT...probably due to the wrasse.

I may actually take you up on that if I'm ever around...Carnitas?lol
I actually really like it when my display has tons of the little micro dusters and that and my like of gorgonians are why I don't use Copperbands for aptasia control as they wipe them out fast.

If you don’t feel like you’re feeding too much then no probs- but your system may start absorbing what the feathers are taking care of today- all I’m saying is be mindful if they start dying off (as filter feeders will be the first to do)- all in all it’s a net positive and a sign of a healthy system that is caring for itself. Think of it this way... so much better that the nature of your system cares for any possible excess with a feather duster rather than an algae.
