RO/DI filter changing and bypass valve flushing question(s)

Hi everyone. I had a ton of parts laying around from a previous DIY dosing system project and decided to install some bypasses. Here are the questions and thank you in advance.

      1. I have replaced all filters including the membrane, what bypasses should i use and what would be the specific recommended times for flushing?

      2. when using the system after numerous idle days what bypasses and recommended times for flushing?

ultimately installed all filters. opened the membrane bypass and flushed until the water ran clear. closed membrane bypass
opened DI bypass and flushed for 8 quarts. closed di bypass. (water tested @ 15 tds)
discarded 5 gallons of product water. (even before discarding the 5 gallons water was coming out at 0 tds)
