      Managing shipping cost?

Earlier this week I mailed a frag overnight to NorCal and was it was the first time I’ve done that in years. I used the smallest Uline styro box (6”x9” or so) and of still cost $80. Is that Corona pricing or is FedEx usually that much? I used a recycled box from my work to save a few bucks.

I’m curious if this crowd has any ideas on saving money shipping corals? I’m not looking to do this often, so I don’t know if I can open a FedEx account. (Or if that’s worthwhile). Is UPS cheaper? Thoughts?

      Use www.shipnex.com

They have lower cost..but beware on these days. Fedex has a lot of shipments and are taking longer or "wait list" on some shipments.

That's been about average cost for something like fedex.
My last pair of clowns were shipped not to my door, but rather to Deltas holding facility.
2 huge bags, 1 for each clown think at least a gallon of water each, medium large box and it was about $45, shipped from New Jersey.
Process was pretty simple, they gave me an approximate time to pick up and I drove there and picked up myself.
I've seen a number of people going this route, maybe look into this.
