What size Trailer is needed for safely transporting IBC 275 gallon tote?

A few things to take into consideration:
Total weight of water - around 2,300lbs+ if filled
Weight rating / cargo weight rating of trailer
Number of axles of trailer
Hitch weight / rating
Tow capacity of tow vehicle.
I rarely have need to carry a full 300gallons of water with me.. but I do occasionally for large tank moves / installations. I also do a lot of tank moves of large tanks. I therefore, wanted a trailer with a large enough bed to move 8ft+ tanks, and I specifically wanted a dual axle trailer for better weight distribution and even-ness of the ride. I ended up buying a dual axle 12x6’ enclosed trailer. More than what I would need if I only wanted to Cary the water drum. I would probably still recommend a dual axle of some sort

Oh! Also consider brakes.
Depending on the size of your tow vehicles, having brakes on the trailer may be very important. I drive a mid-sized V6 Toyota 4Runner. Not the most powerful tow vehicle. The empty trailer by itself would be quite noticeable when slowing down if I did not have brakes on it. But add in ~2,300lbs of water and it would be downright dangerous without brakes in a hard-stop scenario
