Thanks Chris! Nothing catastrophic, just frustrating. We've rented the same house for the last eleven years and have been lining ourselves up to make an offer on the place out of the blue. Just so happened to get preapproved for what I want and within a week I find that the owner just died and his wife has already accepted an offer from a fix and flip realtor, it's already in escrow and the buyer is inspecting the property tomorrow. Very damned frustrated that they didn't let us know so that we could make an offer beforehand. It's all good though, life could be worse.

Do you know how much she sold it for? Other guy might accept an offer from you to make a quick buck for just some paperwork.

I tried to find out from my property managers but they didn't specifically give me a number. I'm meeting with them tomorrow when the buyer inspects the place. I'm incredibly uneducated on the homebuying process, as there wasn't really any urgency to it (so I thought), but I assumed that once they're in escrow it's kind of a done deal barring any real problems?

Sorry to hear that Andrew but why the urgent sale? When we bought properties that were occupied by tenants we actually wanted the tenants to stay occupying it to keep generating income but when we wanted to remodel the entire house we normally gave 30-60 days for tenants to move out, enough time for them to relocate in a timely matter and sometimes we paid them off if we needed the property sooner.

I've been taking my time selling the tank since thanksgiving, but really I want the tank to be gone so it's one less thing to worry about while I try to figure out where we're gonna live, packing, etc.
Our property managers have been fantastic so I'm sure they'd give us ample time, but now I gotta finish work on my Bronco and my E63 too before we potentially move to somewhere without a garage (the horror!)
