      Acrylic Fabrication feeler. Any input?

Several years ago, I started making calcium reactors. Learned a lot about acrylic back then. With the direction the hobby has taken, I feel there is a need for affordable acrylic devices, parts and customer specific requests.

If you had access to an acrylic fabricator with low overhead, quality craftsmanship and a fairly reasonable lead time.....what would you have them build for you?

I'd like to make some custom media baskets. They want 80$ for them online. I feel I could make some for a fraction of that.

Hilarious. I was thinking of the same thing, Dani. Specifically for me - an acrylic hood that housed T5/LED hybrids. Just the appearance to make them look sleek and clean hovering over a canopyless, rimless tank would be pretty nice.

      The other ideas were:

      dosing chambers/containers of various sizes

      Affordable sumps

      Custom ATO reservoirs

Algae reactors that allows easier harvesting chaeto with minimal spillage/mess

I know it’s a lot Vinny, but I’ll bet if U got the right design, people would probably be texting u 24/7 lol

Its not really a lot. I like diversity and product development. It keeps creativity alive and my skills benefit greatly. Would you happen to have a picture of an acrylic hood like what you're referring to? The size of some projects would require obviously larger machinery. Working with up to a 30"x30" piece of material comes in at one price point for tool costs. Larger obviously goes up. the decision to go for larger machinery would obviously depend on need/demand and return of investment.

Keep the comments coming please. All good input! Thank you!

From the orphek website. I thought it was kind of nice. Imagine a led arm and with frosted acrylic!

I'd be interest in a custom AIO insert for a glass tank I want to convert to an AIO. Let me know if that is something you might be interested in making.
