Red Sea algae at the beach

I came across some really neat looking plant at the beach. What are the chances of being able to throw it in a separate tank and surviving? Would cold water plants be able to live in warm water tanks? Just curious to know if anyone's tried.

Give it a shot in after a proper dip. It's worked for me thus far & the tangs love it.
