      Marine velvet? Help

Well, tank has been established over a year now and has been very stable over the last 6 months. Everything doing great.

I purchased an angel about 2-3 weeks ago. Over the last few weeks been nothing but hell.
Lost a fish out of nowhere. Then my Midas blenny is fine one day, next day pale and on the ground with cloudy eyes and dead within hours

I then notice my angel and both my clowns not as active, pale,, and almost like a white dust on them, not ich.

I test tank. Everything is perfect

I pull them all out of DT and put them into QT with cupramine and melafix. Angel doesn’t make it through the night. One clown dies in a day. Last clown is still covered in dust but active and eating. Leopard wrasse has no issues.

Currently treating main tank with Polylab Medic which has great reviews.
      Fish still in QT.

      Any ideas? Suggestions?

      This sucks

Again, symptoms are: pale color, whitish “dust” on fish, cloudy eyes, inactive

Yes they are in quarantine now. I think I’ll start quarantining all fish prior to putting in main tank.
Should I treat the quarantine with copper with healthy fish before putting in?

Probably really late on this but I went through the same thing a few years ago. I put all of my fish into QT with a very mild copper treatment for a few weeks and then into a separate unmedicated tank with a sponge filter and frequently changed saltwater for six weeks while the tank lay fallow. I made it a point to feed my fish extremely well during this time to keep their strength up and luckily they kept eating probably because the copper concentration wasn’t too high (that stuff is like chemo). All in all, I was fast enough to only lose a blenny out of 15 other fish.

Get ready for a long road ahead.
90 to 120 days without fish in your reef.. make sure to dose nitrate and phosphate to keep your corals healthy since they won't have fish poop to eat.

As for fish, QT is the way to go. Cupramine is very toxic. Try using chelated copper instead.. hit up D-man.. (Derek). He's know how to properly QT fish.

Forget about any in tank treatment. I've tried most of them and they don't work and usually result in more lost of livestock and money.

Fyi you have the 2 copper treatments mixed up. Chelated copper is more harsh on fish but can be mixed with other medications
