      It's really satisfying to build your own stand and canopy, and you end up with a sense of accomplishment, which is really rare in this hobby. I built my stuff with little more than a drill, a tiny table saw, a router, and a couple of sanders. You can buy all the tools and materials, and still end up getting pretty close to what it would cost you to buy just the finished product from an LFS.

      Yeah, I had a sense of accomplishment from building my last stand. Only, I didn't have a table saw. I used a handsaw... and it showed.

      If you're volunteering your equipment, I'll be over in a flash to build muhself a little stand/canopy action.

      P.S. We still haven't seen your tank, or your stand and canopy.

      I borrowed eric's table saw (circular saw screwed to a metal table) and jharr's router. I have a circular saw, orbital and belt sander you're welcome to, though.
      There was a post on CL not too long ago for 1.25HP router for $40. I really wanted it, but I'm trying to save for the summer...
