Refugium Light

Hey everyone,

I want to get a good light for my refugium to grow macro algae. I was wondering if anyone could give me their opinion on a quality/affordable light. If there are any that have their own timers that would be pretty sweet. something with Bluetooth would be better lol

I have a new Acke 24w light from amazon. Paid 24$ you can have it for 20$ I’ll even throw in a timer. Lmk
Reviews were good and the price was right. I had a cheap China box led and it grew my chaeto fine. I’m sure this one would outperform.

Home Depot LED grow light...think $12 to $14 plus you will need to spend another $10 on fixture...they grow plants (algae) great!

I’m using a home depot bought 100w equivalent cree led 5000k spotlight and grow chaeto like a mofo. The bulb cost me around $10 and a timer will run you less than that.

Take a look at the red/blue Par38 grow LED screw bulbs on amazon. Cheap retrofit LED bulbs that work great for chaeto. I've been using the same one for a few years.
