Hey guys so I will be setting up a 180g and was wondering what would be the best way to fill the tank. Should I get scripts water or buy salt to make my own?

1. What are keeping in it?
2. Are you going to continue using the same water source (Scripps or mixed) for water changes?
defiantly buy an rodi and mix the saltwater, unless you like to haul buckets!
It is going to be a reef tank. I do have an rodi system already that I could use. I have always used scripts but have never had a tank this big to fill. Was thinking maybe just to get the tank started use scripts the mix after that.

I’ve done both and have had better results with mixing. Scripps is a great source & you can do well with it but will need to boost levels to use in a high demand tank. For that reason, it was easier for me to remain consistent with mixing. I also, if I switch back, would apply a diatom filter to the process. Depending on how close you live & the volume you need, it very well could be cheaper to mix. Personally I’d maybe start with scripps for the lg volume then mix after the cycling
