Trigger 26 sump with Nyos 160 questions

Should I raise my skimmer so the water level is lower? If so, what should I use to raise it? Also should I face the skimmer the other way so that the water out of the drain immediately enters the skimmer?

Yes raise it to find the right heigh where it will properly work and then tune it, i raise mine about 5" and submerged about 5", you can use a lot of things to raise it (rocks, eggcrate,PVC,containers...)

The skimmer should have directions on water level height for best performance. I’d follow those. If you do need to raise it the easiest way is some egg crate and pvc. They also make acrylic skimmer stands which are relatively inexpensive.

I don’t think it matters which direction the intake faces as long as it’s clear of obstruction. Maybe someone else has an opinion on it.
