      Help cleaning used Chiller.

First off, does the search thread actually work throughout this site? All I get are keywords that show up, no threads available.

I have a used chiller that probably has old water and gunk in it. How do I properly clean it out?

YouTube search says, use hydrogen peroxide followed by RODI water?

How do I keep fittings from leaking water? I have tried, with and without vinyl tape....

      Thanks in advance.

What I have done in the past with mine, was took a 5 gallon bucket of water and added some bleach to the water. Then I hooked the chiller up into the 5 gallon bucket so it would recirculate the bleach water through the chiller. I let it run like this for about 24 hours, then I repeated the same process 4 times with RODI water.

Could you use vinegar? Instead of bleach?

You could, but it will not dissolve the organics like bleach would. Bleach is perfectly safe as long as you rinse it out well enough. A lot of people use bleach to cure their rock, including myself. If it's safe enough for rock comet it's safe enough for a chiller. Again, just rinse it out well
