      IM Nuvo Tips

So I recently purchased a IM Nuvo 20 and wanted to know if any other Nuvo owners out there had any tips or things they got for their tanks that they like.
First thing I’m looking at are media baskets. IM makes their own an so does InTank. Any of you prefer one or the other? Also looking for skimmer recommendations, to fuge or not to fuge. Things you wish you would’ve done from the start vs later. Just all around tips.
Here are the media baskets. IM are significantly less expensive than the InTank but the InTank look much better quality.

I have the IM baskets they are well built and fits up well in my 20g. I just have filter floss and I have the older version of the skimmer.

I use the in tank in my 30 and love it.
      Fuge in my first chamber
      Media reactor in my second
Sicce 1.5 return (2.0 soon) in the third
      Media reactor in the fourth
Tunze 9004 skimmer in the fifth

Well that’s 2 for the InTank baskets. They do look really solid and well built for sure. One thing I need to figure out is maybe looking at the IM Mini DC pumps they have. I need something decent that will fit and have enough flow to push water through the little chiller I have and back to the tank. I’m gonna build my stand have have my chiller off the ground and as close to the tank as possible.

What did you do for your fuge light? Just lit from the top or did you cut the vinyl and make a window for the fuge?

I cut the vinyl and use a innovative marine fuge light. Works great, no complaints. I only cut the footprint of the light, nothing more.

When I had my IM40 I use this Acke led grow light and did well. I removed a small portion of the black tape and the light is parallel to it.

Wow this is more cost effective than the IM CheatoMax light. One reason I didn’t pull the trigger on the CheatoMax. Thanks for the link!

This is my plan for my IM 25 lagoon running from left to right rear chambers; media basket or floss holder, then media reactor or fuge with a 100w finnex heater, then ato and IM Migthy Jet 538gph return pump, then the Nuvo DC skimmer, then another media basket or a IM uv light.

I’m still trying to work out all the kinks and see what’s my best most ULM way to go.

Thanks for posting that. Definitely cheaper than the IM fuge light.

Leaning towards this basic setup on InTanks website. The center one with the option of a Skimmer. Not sure if I’ll run one yet.

Thought I’d share this deal I came across. Just bought 2 bags yesterday for under 10 bucks.
