      Your experience with Crystal Dynamics

Hey guys, has anyone had Crystal Dynamics Aquarium make a tank for them? What was your overall experience? I ordered a tank back in Dec that was suppose to be done in Feb, but it isn't. I was wondering if this was a common occurrence with CDA, or it's just been me.

They are responsive to emails, but I dont want to have to ask about my tank over and over.

They really haven't said. The last communication with them said the stand was waiting for finishing. I am also having them build light hangers for the fixture, but they haven't mentioned that taking more time than expected.

I was just fishing around to see if anyone else's tank took months longer than quoted.

You just need to ask if you paid for it or put your deposit you have done your part per agreement. They may be busy but need to let you know reasoning behind a 1 month+ delay. Unless you asked to add on stuff after date agreement?

Otherwise call and ask what is the status on your setup? If ots more time, maybe theres compensation..idk.
It's not rude they know they are behind.

I believe with this company you will need to add 4 to 8 weeks on top of what they quoted you. They had to rebuild my 45 gallon tank to replace the one I had and it took 8 weeks to get it delivered. They quoted me 4 weeks for it to be done and delivered. So I got the tank in the shortest time frame. I believed there is a thread on r2r stating the same thing, 4 to 8 weeks on top of the time they quoted you.

With all said and done it’s worth the wait!

      Good luck!

CD has been producing very poor product lately. Take a look on R2R and you will see many threads about their unfinished product, which is not ok given their price. One tank was so bad that they didn’t even polish the top of one panel of glass. Don’t want to bash your exciting build, but make sure to fully check the silicone, eurobracing, and finish. I ordered an SCA tank for half the price of CD and it is flawless. Maybe try them?

Wow! Didn’t know they are not up to par anymore. I got my tank in 2017.

      Good luck to the op!

Yeah I thought they were awesome at MACNA! I was going to use them for my huge build when I get out of school and buy a house but Idk now! This was the thread I really wanted to show the OP to inform to look at the final product very very carefully, not rain on his parade because I know how exciting a new build is.

When I got my tank it was from a clearance sale from Pet Kingdom. I noticed some bubbles in the silicone. When they came and switch out the tank they claim that it was one of the first set of tanks they did. But they fixed the problem. I got a great deal on the setup so I am not complaining.

Yikes, well it's too late for me to pick another company. I'll make sure to thoroughly check the tank before delivery.

I've looked at CD's tanks... they are nice but way expensive. Also looked at lot of other brands over the last couple years. Finally bought a 120g from SCA when it was on sale during the holiday and couldn't be happier with the price and quality!

The tank and stand are almost, if not done by now. They are working on the light hangers for the ATI and Hydras. The sent me some pics and the tank looks awesome.
