      Question Low Calcium High KH?

Hey guys. I’ve been out of the reef thing for a few years now. Always had large tanks prior.
Recently I set up a Nuvo 20 AIO. Say about 4 months ago.
Everything overall has done well. It’s a mixed reef. Only issue I am having is keeping my kh and calcium levels correct.
My KH is always high it seems. Last week I measured it at 15.. so I did a large water change with aqua sds salt water (they use Red Sea Coral salt).
Well today my KH is down to 12.1 but my calcium is only at 320.

I’ve read online some people dose in their nanos, some don’t. I have the B-Ionic two part buffer system but I rarely use it.

Should I maybe just be dosing the calcium part of it to raise that?

      Here’s my other tank parameters:
      Temp: 78.1
      Salinity: 1.025
      PH: 8.0
      Phos: 0
      Ammonia: .5
      Nitrite: 0
      Nitrate: 0

Just tested. It’s right at 1260. I rarely test my mag though. Should this be something I pay more attention too?

Let Alk drop naturally and slowly dose the Ca to desired levels. Things happen a lot faster in these little tanks. But if livestock is happy let them naturally lower that Alk rather then shock the system with a sudden drop. That’s usually when we start losing stuff.

Yes I’m thinking the same thing. Any reason what would be making my kh so high though?

Mag is not to low, I keep mine around 1380. Imo alk, Ca and mag are all equally important. I've noticed if my mag was to low, the alk and ca would get out of whack, mag to high and my corals would use this instead of alk causing spikes in alk when daily dosing. In my system.
If you have monti caps, I have seen I'm my system, they love to suck up the mag quickly.
I.would do like said above and let the levels come down naturally, reset then slowly dose all three where you would like them to be. Be careful doing large water changes depending on the salt you are using and the levels the alk, ca and mag mix to. Dont want to raise all to quickly or more that 1.0 in 24 hours
