Any tips for keeping a tank on carpet?

      Hey guys,

I’m considering moving a tank upstairs to my office/second bedroom. Unfortunately, I’m still renting and this room is carpeted so I’ll be leaving it as is.

Does anyone have advice for protecting the carpet?

I’ve also read that you’ll want to keep the tank off the wall a few inches to avoid the legs on the tack strip. Anything else I should consider?

      Thanks!

Put a towel or 2 down when u do water changes. Also, buy some wood shims before you move it. You’ll need them to make up for soft carpet/uneven surface.

Yeah Duncan but being in an old folks place I think a little “water” damage to the floor is to be expected.

Appreciate the advice guys. Will definitely make sure it’s level and use plenty of towels on WC.

Luckily this stand has an acrylic tray under the sump too. Should help cut the risk below.
