Got a great deal on this tank months ago so I made the decision to slowly piece the puzzle together and upgrade my tank. Got a stand/canopy made for it, prepped and stained it my self. Still have my 420r over the tank since I won’t be able to fork over the cash for a new one til sometime in March2019. Had a blast at Reefapalooza2018 where I won a sick ass, brand new Simplicity skimmer which fit the build perfectly! Plus I came home with a few cool frags. I had the ATO controller that I bought for my previous tank but couldn’t use and all it needed was a pump. Got my rock scape inspiration from a tank I follow on Instagram and had a fellow reefer help me out with that(shout out to puffer619). I used pond foam to glue it all together. Then one night sometime on Nov. 27th I stayed up til 1:30 am making the switch. So stressful, so much work but it was well worth it. I started late but I knew I wouldn’t be able to sleep if I didn’t do it that night. I knew I could get away with laying all the coral on the bottom since I didn’t have time to mount it all. Between breaking down, Setting up, mixing water, transfering over rock and coral it took me about 5-6 hours to finish the job. I was so stoked, adrenaline was pumping and I couldn’t believe I had done it. Coral were upset but I knew they would love the new tank. Better filtration and a sump with a spot for a refugium And a bigger skimmer. So here goes some pics that I took along the way, hope y’all enjoy. I know I did.
