Lol^^ nice. Definitely been cold lately, I had to turn the alerts off on the apex and finally plug my heater into it and set the on/off temps. Sounds like its gonna be cold for a while to come, might be a good idea to buy 2 new heaters so you have a back up

Tell me about it, my power supply for my return pump went out 2 days ago and I haven’t been able to run my heater for my DT at all. It’s in the sump and I have corals in there also that needs the heater. Need to wait till Friday for a replacement. A 75w heater is in the main DT but it can’t handle a 180gallon.

      I feel for you.

Just make sure your space heater is on a different circuit. If it’s a lasko; I have the same one, and it uses 1500watts.

That seems like an excessive amount of wasted energy and time. Why wouldn’t you take the heater out of the sump, and put that inside your display, instead of using a 75 W heater in your display, and putting all of your Coral in the sump?

True but just haven’t been home lately due to work so I just did a quick fix and toss in a heater and off I went.

Tank (and sump) should never reach temps below the ambient temperature of the room it is in.....then add a few more degrees for lights, pumps, etc.
Thusly, assuming your house is at least 72 degrees or so (remember, natural gas heating is CHEAP compared to electricity) then you should be fine.
Long story short: turn up that thermestat a notch or two and be done with it.
