      LED light bars?

Hey all, what LED light bars are you using? I'm going to be upgrading soon and want to run an 8 bulb T5 ATI with some supplemental LED bars. I know the "go to" bars to are the Reefbrite XHOs but, I wanted some opinions on the SB LED bars, or the Reefbreeder bars if anyone runs these.

      Thanks,

Yes Reefbrites are the gold standard, but Sbars. They are super heavy duty, have uv diodes with the royal blue in a 1 to 3 ratio and have convenient sliding brackets which you can aim in virtually any direction. They will also save you some money compared to the Reefbrites. There are plenty of hobbyists out there who are already having a lot of success with them. Good luck with whatever you go with.

I've been running sbars for a couple years now, and I'm very happy with the look, quality and results it provides.

I have a reefbrite XHO right now and I previously had the sb bars on a different tank. The xho are sleek and look nice, they have a much wider angle of light dispersion due to no lenses. The sb bars are a bulkier light bar, the light is much more focused as the leds have individual reflectors. The sb bars have uv and royal blue diodes instead of only royal blue like the xhosa. Sb bars are also more powerful per foot than the xhos per foot.

Thanks guys for the info on the bars. I'm trying to figure out the best way to light a 72" tank with T5 and supplemental actinics.

I think for the price, it's a great deal. I have never owned the XHO's, but I have seen them on other reefers tanks. They are very nice. I have a 72 inch tank that is currently being lit with the ATI Hybrid 8 bulb. I have a 60inch SBAR on the front and it does well adding color when all 8 bulbs are running and especially when they ramp down. They seem to displace a good amount of light throughout the tank with just 1. But I will be adding a second one to get more par and color on the back side.

Orphek just came out with their own OR bars. Looks interesting.

      Nice, one more to consider.

I actually got got my measurements mixed up. The tank is going to be 84" because that's the max my wife will let me...I mean, um, that's the max amount of space I have. I'm going to use a 60" fixture with some side lighting as well. I do like those Orphek full spectrum fixtures.

I have the same ATI fixture as you. Did you have to drill that fixture to get the SBAR to mount to it or, was there a bracket that worked for you?
