      ID please. Long thing coming from coral

      Can someone tell me why this is? It seems to just keep getting longer. Hopefully you can see it from the picture.

      It's white in color. It seems to be coming out of the base of a mushroom or the rock.

      Kinda hard to to tell in pics (maybe try one with a flash) but my guess would be sponge or featherduster

      It does look like a sponge to me also looking for new area to spread to I have the same sponges in my display tank

      You can see at the base that there is more sponge encrusted on the frag

      Here another Pic. Seems to be taking over the plug. Leave it or take it out and clean it?

      Yup sponge tracers, up to you sponges are good filtration. I have that exact sponge around some of my shrooms hasn’t been an issue

      Definitely a sponge. Reef safe, but they can definitely smother Coral

      Just pull away any portion that is encroaching your corals
