So you know me. I can’t leave well enough alone. I didn’t want to mix in white PVC with orange and gray.

I started working on the diaphragm. This is my first rendition. Nothing glued in place yet. I think it will work well for access and serviceability.

Here’s a look after it was all installed. Fits really nicely.

I’m not used to all this high-tech equipment. Look what I forgot to install. Better late than never I guess.

I need to get the return line connected to the reefers xl return line. Obviously I’m not using the hose barb fitting that came with the kit. I was researching how I was going to achieve this and I saw on another reefers build thread how he did it. By Simply sanding down the 1 inch PVC it will slide up into the reefer return line. Glue, set, all secure.

I’ve been thinking a lot about wire management and how to keep it tucked away and clean as possible. Again. I saw this on another reefer build thread and this is what he was using. Pretty slick.

I’ve been toying with the idea of swapping out the gray primary and secondary overflow lines. But decided to keep them. I think not only do they look good with a contrasting colors but why fix it if it’s not broken.

Looks great, are the LEDs in the sump area just for light or are you planning to use them as fuge lights?
Another question, with the flow meters, what is required to hook them up to the apex? Breakout box? Can you tune the flow via apex with the flow meters or would you have to do.this with ball valves or gate valves?

I wanted to accent the sump so I placed the light at the bottom out side of the tank. I believe the flow meters do need a break out box. Not sure if the new apex has the ports for them or not. The flow is adjusted with the gate valves. The flow meters are just to adjust the correct flow through what ever media is in the chambers. The return flow meter is the most import. IMO. I am trying to run the triton method and they call for 10X turn over. we will see.

There is nothing like improving the view with a view of a new tank.
