Awesome setup. What's that above the light fixture?

Was curious, is that enough rock?
It really depends on how effective his biological, mechanical filtration and maintenance is vs. his bioload. For example, I have less rock, a large bioload and just until recently only ran an algae turf scrubber on my system. I haven’t done a water change in eons. My nitrates wouldn’t rise above 2.5 ppm no matter what I did within reason, including feeding so much throughout the day that my fish refused to eat. The reality is even trace nitrates are ok as long as your coral is doing fine and there’s enough food for them in the water column. Also, I only added a small skimmer for increased gas exchange to lower my ph from 8.6 (Yes, I recalibrated my probes and used multiple test kits).

Correct. I’ve also done research on this marinepure bio filter. This media offers more surface area then the actual rock in the display. Pretty incredible what it is capable of. I also plan on running some sort a huge fuge along with carbon and GFO reactors. The goal is for an ULN & ULM set up. Or in another words the triton method

Two weeks in and my ammonia is starting to drift down.

My main lights for the undercabinet lighting system came in. 16 feet of LEDs. RBG remote controlled via an iPhone app.

You got to love technology.

Got the undercabinet lighting installed. It’s all just peel and stick. And controlled from my phone. Pretty cool. I’ll update this later after it gets dark so you can see how bright they are at night.
Please excuse the incompleteness of the control portion of the cabinet. I haven’t even begun to build that yet. It looks like I will be moving this entire system to a new house in a month or so. Therefore I’m basically just getting the system cycled and built out.

Great Build. Love the Reefers
I was asked what lights I uses for the sump and system control area. Here is a link.

These are the lights I used for the bottom of the sump.

So I am going for the ULM on this build. Specifically the triton method. Once I get the tank cycled and all my levels where they’re supposed to be I will start dosing the triton supplements. Stay tune for more on that progress.

Had some extra time during the Christmas time off. So I decided to build a canopy for my reefer 425 XL. It actually turned out pretty nice.
I think I decided to go with two hydra 52’s for my lighting. They will be supplemented with 4 HO T5s. This will be a SPS dominate tank. Does anybody have any experience with the hydras?
