Back in the days drove my grandmas geo metro hit the gas too hard the chain loopednover and lock on to the throttle car sped up and ran me through a light and past some cars. Luckily it was later in the night. I cut the ignition and hit the brakes as I pulled over into some apartments to check for skid marks... in my underwear . Cop pulled in right be hind me ...thought I was going to get a fat ticket. He told me to get out of his way he had to get inside the complex...lol
Popped the hood loosened the chain went home.
Moral of the story we all need to have a plan mine is cut ignition for acceleration issues, if car wont allow shutoff during driving throw it in neutral blow the motor.
Brakes going out. Ebrake is your best friend if it functions.
Any issues like this are horrifying, glad all ended well for you.
