Crab ID

Found this guy in some rock I bought. Can anyone help identify? I don’t want to add him without knowing if it’s safe.

Doesnt look like an emerald to me. Looks more like a gorilla crab. I wouldn't add it.

Although I don’t know what type of crab yours may be, I can tell you it’s most likely not a friend. A good rule of thumb is to make sure the pinchers on the claws to not come to a point. Typically this means they are carnivorous, but if the pinchers have a flat tip like in the photo, they tend to be grazers.

Plus one if the claws come to a point do not add him it’s not an emerald for sure

I think your crab is listed here as a bad crab but not named, look at the second one from the left in the top row.
