      Bandsaw

I have a big piece of shelf rock that I have no place for in my tank, with a good size favia coral on it. Was wondering if anybody has a bandsaw I could use to cut it off. Willing to give a frag for the use of it. Just tired of it sitting in the sump and would like to get it back in the display.

I have a wet saw you can borrow or bring the frags here for cutting. I just want a decent deposit on the saw in case I don't see you again if you borrow it and don't return it that will force me to various forms of bullying and harassment on sdreefs if not returned.

For sure we can work together! I never use a saw, those things are for lumberjacks for dropping trees with. On a natural reef the only saw you might expect to see is on a sawfish. Corals get fragged in nature by waves tossing rocks and boulders around the reef, busting up the coral heads into thousands of small fragments that sprout and grow into new reefs. The only other way frags get formed in nature is from boats dropping anchor or tourists standing on the reef in booties.
A hammer alone is more natural than a saw, imo.
And it’s all better if beer is flowing to help keep things moving.

Could be too big for a gryphon and depending on the rock type you wouldn’t want to use as you run the risk of bending the blade; some man made rock is too dense (a lesson I learned the hard way) You may want to address with using angle grinder with a diamond wheel or the hammer/chisel direction. either way if you still need in a couple weeks I’d be happy to help.
