      Chip in glass [ H E L P ]

So I recently purchased a tank (craigslist) for a good deal. Full starphire glass. I thought I inspected it Thoroughly but I was looking at it the other day and noticed this crack on the bottom corner of the back panel. Not sure if it happened during transport to my house, but it’s there now.

It holds water but I don’t know if I wanna chance it . Maybe reinforce it with silicone ?

Is there any companies that will fix this?

      Tank brand is unknown.

      What should I do?

Really bummed right now . Any info would be great .

Looks like a chip on the glass. I’ve seen running tanks with chips on them. You’re call. If it were a crack then ditch or repair tank

Np I think your good to go seen this many times with bigger tanks. As long as you don't have a crack in the glass.

i might just chance it. prob reinforce it with silicone. might just fill it up and let it run for a while in garage. and see how it does.

I personally would still use the tank. I've seen some tanks from people on here with chips and they're in no rush to replace. Just my opinion.

If you have wood floors, laminent, or carpet where the tank is going to be, I wouldn't chance it.
You could salvage it and cut it all apart, order a new panel and then reseal it. Busting a seam and or having the glass break and blow out is not a fun experience. 100g on the floor, fish and coral loss, floor and wall repairs and clean up, is it worth it.
If your going to use it anyways, maybe a garage system, definitely reseal the inner seal, leak test for a month, place a liner under tank.
