      Max tank temp?

Just curious what kind of temperature swings people get on a day like this? 7.6 I got to to 79.85 and 7.7 I got to 79.75 with 2 small fans running non-stop.

Heater kicks in anywhere below 77 and fans kick on at 80. Fans been on most of the day in this wx, sitting at 78.9 atm.

I ran my acro tank at 82 degrees last year. Just make sure the temp is stable. You don't want it to jump from 78 to 82 rapidly. I took 2 weeks to get it to 82 degrees and saw no I'll effect

Two tanks, old house, small ac. Inside temp never above 81. Normal or average tanks run at 77-78 pretty solidly.
without the heater, both tanks generally run one to 2 degrees above ambient temps from equipment (leds , powerheads skimmers pumps)
      55g sumped, 77-80.
30g non sumped 77-81.5 (fans kick on at 81.5)
Fans have not come on in the 55. Fans have come on in the 30 daily this week.

for both tanks, 81.5 was the balance of the fans being on non stop. 80 they were constantly on.

One of the major concerns(aside from rapid temp shifs directly effecting sensitive corals), is oxygen solubility at higher temperatures. Everything including the bacteria needs oxygen. at 85, O2 runs Very very low. My 30 has a line run for outside air to the skimmer. But above 85 is still a danger as the water just wont hold as much 02.

My tank is still in the cycling process. Just got my chiller plumbed yesterday though. Old little granny flat that traps heat like crazy. Once the chiller was up and going water temp was reading 88° and now it’s sitting at 78°.
