      Asd Phoenix care

Anyone have any suggestions here? ASD Phoenix has algae growing on it and turning purple. I really hate to lose this one.
      Alk 8.3, Ca 410, Mag 1300, N 5, Phos .03, Radion g2 xr30Pro.... it is low, in medium/low flow.

That piece looks like it needs more light, might help placing it somewhere with more flow as well to alleviate anymore algae growth. If it starts bouncing back spot feed it a little bit of reef roids once or twice a week.

I seem to have worse luck when I move things, but Ill give the higher light/flow a chance. Should I have started this one in higher light/flow? So hard to tell if something is adjusting or dying.

Sps in general are higher flow, so med to higher is a safe bet generally. placement for light is trick, generally closer to edges and (like on frag racks) will have less light esp with most led setups.(less coverage on edges)
Figuring out light requirements for species is tougher. there are high light corals, low light corals and a LOT that fall in the middle(50-1000+ par, Xenia for example). kinda why it goes back to moving stuff around when you not sure. I move mine after about two weeks. And yea ive forgotten and lost a few by forgetting them.

I have one encrusting SPS right now Ive had all over the tank in different spots, it got pushed under a ledge and is literally in the shade and took off growing.

From what I read about this coral, it should have a generalized clade of of Zoo ox, meaning, 100 par and up. like the xenia.

Here's a short list from Seneye on light requirements. Pretty eye opening. (note, I spoke to D Riddle, this list is derived from his and others research papers)

Here is a very informative and interesting thread on R2R...
I highly recommend you to read it.

I have mine in between 150-200 PAR and Medium to high flow. You can’t really see the colors because Pic was taken with iPhone and no filters, but it is beautiful in person.
