They couldn’t keep me away forever!
After finishing school, moving home, and going through one of the worst winters for surfing I can remember, I stumbled back into my old addiction.
Here’s my current tank:
60 gallon cube, drilled for additional return lines, running a kessil a360w, and two mp10s.
Began cycling in February of this year.
And here’s a photo of my sump when I first plumbed it. I’ve since upgraded (or downgraded?) to a reef octopus 150sss skimmer. I’m running a kessil h380 to grow chaeto (mostly hair algae), and I have a vario 6 return (always ready to upgrade).
My focus is on LPS right now, but I have a few montis and zoas that I really like. My goal is a super stable LPS reef that I barely have to touch. I haven’t dosed anything and have been relying on the elevated alkalinity, calcium, and magnesium in the Red Sea coral pro salt to replenish these elements with bi monthly 20-30% water changes. Eventually, I would like to do away with this and set up my dosing pumps to do this for me using two part or a combo with kalkwasser. I’m just stoked to see everything open and growing!
Here’s a few of my favorite things I’ve added so far:
Thanks for looking!
