ayone else trying the Aquasd Elegance Corals?

Well so far it has been about a month and Will's elegance shows no sign of the withering foot disease so many of these corals are famous for. Thank you Will as this has always been a dream coral for me and it seems the new requirements on collection and handling may be solving the difficulty of finding viable elegance corals.

Yeah, certainly different from the prior imports that were about 80-90 percent doomed. Ill update this again in a while as elegance corals have to be one of the coolest corals, oddly resembling an anemone but considered an LPS, it seems like an anemone really but rather than attaching to a rock, it grows a skeleton. I guess they are collecting and fragging them then healing them in Australia before shipment and for one reason or another now the corals seem to be once again long term tank corals. I had written this off as trying to ever keep again after trying one and looking into the reality of keeping them a few years ago. Others have had tried many and I have heard and one after another slowly melts and I thought they should have been banned from collection for this as they virtually never survived. As far as I know only the Aussie elegances are surviving. The common pink tipped Indo's are still very likely to die.

Your post is making me miss my old cat Bought it from Reef Dreams? a few years ago and it doubled in size in about 6 months. Outgrew my tank a couple months later and sold it to someone on the boards. Hands down most favorite coral I've had

Have had mine for a few months now also and it looks great! Aquasd gave me a pretty good price for this one too.

Mine is much larger than 18 months ago but no babies have dropped off it yet, guess that takes several years to grow out too or from purchasing a full sized specimen. I do not add any other euphyllias though to avoid the brown slime death I could introduce.
