      Calcium reactors

I'm looking to add a calcium reactor for my 225g and would like to see what people are currently using and why. There are quite a few different brands and i would like to narrow down a simple, practical and quality reactor. Let me know what your using.

I'm in the market as well for a 150g. I was looking at this,
      https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/reef-...l-chamber.html
And the elec regulators and ph probe as well as a.5lb bottle

Have you heard good things about the reef octopus one? I was thinking of the geo reactor cr618 or possibly a skimz.

Clint, hit up Ron and Cornel. They have beautiful reefs and use reactors. I think Tapio uses a reactor as well.

I have a precision Marine that I don’t really like all that much. I have gone crazy trying to get it to drip steady. I’ve recently added a dosing pump which works a lot better then trying to “dial in the drip valve”

I run Skimz reactor on my system https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/skimz...m-reactor.html and love it. I used a Geo in the past but, I have had good luck with the Skimz so far. I run the constant flow method off a MJ1200 pump as well.

A calcium reactor is wise investment in an SPS tank IMO.

I run a GEO 618 and run the constant flow method as well with a carbon doser regulator. Set and forget once you figure out pH range. Great service from George at GEO if you need parts.

Nice , thats what I was leaning towards. What are you using for the feed pump to the reactor?

I run a Geo 618 also with a secondary chamber that is supposed to raise the ph. Not sure if the secondary chamber is necessary. I under estimated the size reactor I would need. I have a 210 fully stocked sps tank and a 90 gallon lps tank and still have to dose 70ml of 2 part daily. I killed a bunch of stuff when I made the switch because I underestimated the impact the reactor had I think I was dripping to much and that caused an alk spike. However now that I have it dialed its nice. I like having both the doser and the reactor so that I can easily raise the dosing as my corals grow. I will be needing to get a bigger CR soon I am sure. Good luck!

So do you recommend a bigger Reactor? I know the cr618 was for 300g. My tank will be fully stocked with SPS as well.

Well I think that depends, are you going to stop dosing all together? If so I would buy a bigger reactor it would be cheaper in the long run than having to get a bigger one down the line and selling your old one. I bought mine from reefrf (Ron) when he upgraded. The GEO products imo are as bulletproof as it gets. I havent had any problems with mine. They are very high quality.

Yes, I would like to stop dosing. Unless it's needed to bring it up to required levels. I'll look for a over rated one then.

What pH are folks targeting in their reactors?
