      New to SD!

Hey everyone! New to reefing in the SD area and would love some tips on the best LFS around and places to get equipment. My old 55Gal was SHATTERED in my move to California so the wife FINALLY let me get a new one (Red Sea Max E260) currently it sits empty on the stand while I piece together upgrades and aquascape. Any suggestions out there?

Aquatic warehouse is a good place to start. They have equipment and livestock and most of their staff are knowledgeable when it comes to reefing. I frequent bulk reef supply online for most my large equipment purchases normally have decent prices and no taxes. Good luck with the tank and welcome

Welcome to SDR! Couple other shops; Pet Kingdom, SDAqua (for corals) and Vets Pets. I've shopped at, and gotten good service, at all those places. Fountains is in the process of being sold so who knows what you'll find in the future. My last visit there the shop was really sparse on selection. I hope whoever buys it will still carry live blood worms!

Plus, there's the good folks here at SDReefs. So far everyone on this site I've met and done business with is generous, honest and friendly. (endorsement payments of frags can be delivered to my house)

Welcome. Vets Pets in El Cajon is the place for fish, you can't go wrong there. Chris won't sell fish that don't eat or are sick and he holds them in the shop until they are ready to go. Pet Kingdom typically can match online prices on equipment as can Aquatic Warehouse. Pet Kingdom has a good selection of SPS frags, ask for Mike.
