I was totally interested in dart frogs right up until I found out that they don't produce the dart toxin after they are in captivity for awhile. The other problem is the therapeutic dose of Epibatidine is very close to the LD, so that there is almost no practical use for these critters in pharmorecreation. They are nice to look at though, but I like corals better.
So you're upset that the cool looking frogs CAN'T kill you?
i would say the fish are more comparable to the frogs and the corals are // to the plants.
just like reefing you begin with the frogs and then you begin to hoard plants.

Ive got a Crested Gecko, a Pacman frog, a 2 reefs also. Both are fun but you cant hold your fish
I am in the process of converting my 130g tank into a dart frog vivarium right now. Taking a break from the reef. Frogs are fascinating creatures. I'll probably have a few mourning geckos as well.

Cool stuff! You'll have to change your signature :P
Amazing reading and very tempting too. I'm tempted to say I hate you but since you won't be able to hear the humor of my tone I'll keep that to myself. Excuse me now while I do some Google searching. I have a spare aquarium that would just fit on a table....

I have a Dendrobates Azureus (blue poison dart frog) in a vivarium I put together. Her name is Zelda. 🙂

I wish captive poison darts and arrows were also toxic, that would be more exciting, like keeping a pet rattlesnake!
That article is interesting, frogging and reefing are more similar than I thought. I think fish move around more, but they are both interesting to look at and enjoy.
