      my clown fish attacked me

I've always heard that maroon clowns can be aggressive but mine was the first salt water fish i've owned and has always been peaceful. Her 4 anemone home is becoming a nuisance so i wanted to downsize them. the rock they are on is really to big to remove and fit safely in a 5 gal bucket for someone else to remove them. Today i decided i was going to try a few tricks and see if i can't get 1-2 off the rock with a credit card on the foot.

Well my clown was having none of that. She went ballistic and went after the card, my hand, anything she could bite. apparently she is a snob and needs 4 homes.

Anyone know what clownfish tastes like? She is gonna have to learn the hard way that i'm the boss of that tank.

Mine draw blood any time my hand is in the tank! I’ve had the pair for about 15 years & part of me can’t wait until they are gone!
They have killed a flame hawk and a leopard wrasse!
Won’t be trying any new fish until one of them is gone!

Yup, those clownfish are very protective of their anemone homes. She doesn't know if you are gonna just take one, two or even all four so she is having none of it.
      I suspect they taste bad.

The bummer is once they realize they can put a bite on you, it typically gets worse, especially w/ maroons.
My last maroon actually jumped out of tank trying to bite me just having my hand above waterline moving lights, and she hit the floor, and I darn near left her there!

Try wearing gloves, or what worked for me was a shiny watch, then she hit her reflection, think it dulled her teeth down some, cause she let up after that, kinda...

Just another reason I love my tank raised picasso's, they love me!

Lmao the same exact thing happened with my last maroon. I took my sweet time putting her back in the tank, she was a pain but a cool fish

Love the maroon gold stripe. Had a few in the past. But can't stand them attacking me. Make it hard when I clean the tank or add coral. But beautiful fish.

Mine are little *******s as soon as a i put a finger in the female will bite me. If i have to do anything in the tank I wear a rubber dish washing glove so she can bite that instead of my skin.
