How long is the Yellow/Mustard stage of cycing, my tank started on Dec 31 2017 and about 10 days ago the yellow mustard started growning and now it is really getting thick on the glass. I thought it was supposed to turn to a green pretty quickly.

I plan on testing my levels on Friday.

It doesn't look bad. May I ask what you are currently doing to the tank, if anything?

Are you adding anything like macrobacter, fish flakes, light, etc?

Light on from 11am-11pm for main tank. Refuguim light on from 11pm to sunrise.
Used AlgeaBarns tank starter pack. feeding the pods with plankton every other day.

No need for light period during cycling.
Use dr Tim’s, but if nutrients are good then you’re done

Just siphon and start adding Fish and coral slowly. Diatoms will go away in a lil bit

+1 on lights if there are no coral or fish then no need for light. That I'm sure is helping the algae grow. Just get a nice clean up crew let them do work. I added 5 turbo snails, 30 hermits 30 random smaller snails and a couple sand conches and algae was gone in 5 days

Definitely should add a cleaning crew at this point. for my ~60 gallon at a stage like this, I would have ordered a 75+ gallon reef cleaner pack from liveaqauria (or use their quantity recommendations and go to a LFS) and dropped them in (drip acclimate for safety). On my new 180gallon, the crew was already there and this phase came and went in a week.
