      Raptor's Red Sea 750 XXL

I ordered my new tank that I have the perfect spot for. I'm wondering what other owners have used for a return pump and skimmer. The lfs has recommended an ASM G2 skimmer and a DC 3500 return pump. I've read decent things about the skimmer as far as it being a workhorse, parts are easy to find and it's reasonably priced. As far as the pump, I've never needed to change out my Mag 12 on my previous tank so I don't know much about other brands. Any suggestions?

I have reefer 525 I’m running a ecotech m1 for return and a vertex omega 180i skimmer both super quiet. Of course you would need bigger in both pieces of equipment but that’s my two sense. Look forward to seeing this tank up. Congrats

Since you went all out on the tank and if you still have extra cash. I would go with vectra L1 pump it will save you on the electric bill, it is the smoothest running and most quite pump on the market it will also allow you to dial the flow in with the controller so you don't have to deal with gate or ball valves . As far as skimmer I would do either a nyos 220 or the regal 200sss those will be super quite and a work horse on that tank. That's just my

Thanks for the input. I’ll do some research and check them out.

Today after confirming that my tank had been ordered and walking around the lfs. I came home and started making my first batch of RODI water in 2 years and picked up a new water mixing can. I'll be shopping around for some sand and rock for now. Maybe there will be some good black Friday sales.

Still waiting on tank but meanwhile I’ve acquired a can full of dry rock, a used ASM G2 skimmer, a Kessil A80 sump light and ordered sand and salt from Amazon.

I’m putting together a BRS Black Friday order for a few other things

So after some nice Black Friday sales, I've ended up with a brand new Apex, 200 lbs of sand, some test kits, a couple of 300w heaters, a gallon of bio balls and a couple of those new sump cups to replace socks. We'll see how those work out. I'm rebuilding my water station to include a 30 gal salt mixing can underneath the RO can. I hope to plumb both of them together and have a pump connected to the bottom one so I can attach a hose and pump water out to the tank in the living room. Hopefully my days of rolling a brute can back and forth are done. Does anyone know a recommended pump to do this? I've seen some nice setups throughout the forums and should have asked this earlier so I could have ordered the pump last week during the deals.

      The beast is nearby!

Install is Saturday, can’t wait. Meanwhile, I’ve been upgrading my mixing station.

      It’s here!

Thanks to Fish Frenzy for delivering and setting up this beast.

I’ve been revamping my mixing station the past two days and I’m 98% done with it.

That mixing station is awesome. Are you just gonna run a hose from there to top off and do the water changes from the garage or?

Thanks. Yes, that is the plan as far as the water changes. As far as the top off goes, I’ve heard that the built in ATO is a bit difficult to access. I plan on replacing it with a 10 gal. reservoir.

Being able to reach all glass surfaces with my flipper max is a huge plus. I hope you don’t regret having that tank tucked in there like that. A stick scrapper is a pita!

It's probably hard to tell from the pictures but there's an 8" gap on each side. I'll post a better picture once I start on my rockwork this weekend. I'm waiting for a Neptune flow meter that I ordered to go ahead and hook up the pump and start filling it.
