      Tank crash?

      Hey everyone!
I woke up this morning to find my 10g nano cloudy. Some of my sps have bleached while some of the others are looking pretty bad. Lps are unhappy and softies are just softies lmao. Not sure what happened over night but parameters test at 0 w/ the API kit. Only thing I can think of is that I cleaned the walls with a cleaning magnet before bed. Ive already done a water change/ added carbon. What can I do now?

Similar thing happened to my office tank and it was because of a heater that exploded.

Check the parameters and the temperature. If you want it, I will give you 20 gallons of water out of my system that has been stable for years. At least this way if you do a 100% water change you will know that the parameters are good. If you do not have the means to test your water parameters, you could bring over some samples and I could test them for you.

Temps usually around 77-78F. NH3, NO2, NO3 all read 0 on API. PO4 reads .25ppm. I'm assuming that although PO4 is a bit high for sps, I've been running the tank like this w/ good growth/ no algae problems. Tank did look clearer but is still cloudy. Doesn't look like any new corals are bleaching.

Yea. Was never able to figure out what was wrong. But all my sps are recoloring from bleaching so I guess all is good.

Stuff like that happened to me before. One time I took a 4 day trip, I came home and I could not believe my eyes. My entire tank was completely brown and opaque. I mean zero inches visibility. I have no idea what happened except maybe the auto-feeder went crazy or something, but still, for it to get that bad in 4 days seems impossible. So I put filter floss in the filter basket and kept changing it and it totally cleared up in a day. And all the corals looked fine. It was really weird.

Ahh that sucks. Everything seems to be recovering slowly but now I have a bryopsis outbreak ever since that crash haha. Not sure how to get it off sps skeletons. Heard about increasing Mg levels but since I dont test my water, not sure if I should play with my parameters.

      Great thread on eradicating bryopsis.

      https://www.reef2reef.com/index.php?threads/285096/

I tried it and bryopsis was gone in 2 weeks.
