that's pretty cool...didn't know they live here....
I guess they only come up when the water is warm. I saw one 3 years ago, but I think it is pretty unusual! Some old surfer told me in the 70s there were tons of sea turtles here in the summer.
There is a resident population that reside in San Diego Harbor in the back bay - near the old power plant intake.
Nice video, btw.
Very cool, never seen one around here.
Were there any leopard sharks still around in numbers?
I went there to see leopard sharks since this is supposed to be mega leopard shark time... I didn't see even one!!!
Nice!! Thanks for sharing!
Awesome!!!
Awesome
It's a little late, why I was wondering, guess I missed it this year, usually beginning and mid summer is best time, and marine room is the place, hundreds every time I've gone.
But at least you got to see and film sea turtles, all my years diving I've never seen them, would trade that for leopards for one season.

I moved here when I was pretty young and I didn't know about the sharks, and I was at La Jolla shores and saw tons of fish and sharks all over the place and I was like "What the heck is going on here!!"
You should see what they look like from an above view at night during a red tide, blue streaks, you can actually see them chase and catch fish all glowy blue, it's pretty awesome to see, only thing I like about red tide.
Red tide is pretty common when the water gets warm, I've had some years I could not see the leopards all summer from it, but last few years it's been pretty clear.
Work schedule just got in the way of fun this year, oh well next year.
