25+ Polyps of CB Bowsers and 10 polyp CAR's

I bought both of these frags off of a well known guy on Reef2reef, all of the polyps opened up right away in my tank, there are about 25 on the Bowser frag and 10+ on the CAR. Sold to me as CB. Very nice frags with lots of color, but reselling because the polyps are small. Smaller than rastas. maybe they will expand with flow and light, not sure? I paid $650 for both, will take offers.

*bowser frag pictured has less polyps, but from same colony as mine. Yes I have permission to use his photos. Will post actual frag pic of bowsers when he resends photo. I cant seem to get a good one myself.*

Not sure how to post a photo, hopefully this link works.

Yes its bizarre. Not sure if he had them in an odd flow spot in his tank or what. Very bright, just small.

Legit Bowsers are supposed to be small. Otherwise you just have a morphed candy apple.

good to know. So those cb bowsers and rr and all those others that I've seen as regular size aren't. Real deal?

If it's larger than a rasta, it's very unlikely to have originated from snipersps tanks, which was the person who coined the name bowser if I remember correctly. So, to answer your question, basically no, you have a candy apple orange. A lot of marketing happens and bowser carries a much better name than CAO, so a lot of candy apples can become bowser in resale. No biggie tho, if you like it and like the price, who frickin cares what we call it. It's in your tank, not somebody else's... All that being said if I had the money I'd buy these.

Jay Painter first introduced the bowser in 09. Here's a lil history thread https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/the-bowser-zoa.93185/ Those pics you have and your description of them being small do resemble the cb bowsers I used to have. With that said I call every bowser a cao unless it can b lineaged back to JP.

Bowsers are slow growers but become larger, just very slow. My guess is they are not happy as mine eventually grew out to about the size of my cars in my tank until my heater exploded and I lost all but handful. They don't like my new system much and are small again.

Haha ya they all "became" bowsers everywhere. Pretty much all corals become copies, not like they pull 1 coral from the ocean, sell to one person, that one person names, grows, sells, and everyone gets that lineage coral. No, 15 people all get the same coral, come up with 15 different names, sell for 15 different prices, but then sellers b-o realize that seller a got twice as much for his than the others, so then all 15 become whatever seller A named the coral. Happens all the time, and reoccurs over time. Kinda like when the guy on facebook was pillaging the ocean floor for different candy apples, and sold them all as shazaams, bowsers, etc.

Thank you all, such great info, so glad I posted. Thinking I might hang onto them for a little while and see how/if they change in my system. They are super bright and cool looking.
