      Catching a Damsel

      Hey folks -

Do you happen to have any good tricks for catching these things? I only have my clowns left and this fish is bullying them as well.

      Thoughts?

try a small soda bottle (20oz usually) with the top, tapered section cut off and turned around so it faces into the bottle. Add some bait inside and wait. That is the trap that has given me the most success over the years.

Drain the tank. (Works best if the tank is under 55 gallons & if you have an empty mixing barrel.)

I used a water bottle trap as described here, cut the top off and stick it back in upside down so they swim into the cone and get stuck inside.

It took a few days for the second one to go in there, those little sneakers seem to know it is a trap.

This is actually best, least stressful, scoop a well in sand, drain tank into brutes or containers, grab fish, pump water back in, done it countless times even in bigger tanks, 180g's, it's no big deal.
There's a fine line between owning your tank, and having your tank own you!_________________________________________
