Ive had uronema before but it was in a QT so i was able to sterilize it.

According to info online, uronema can survive in a tank without a fish host so yes the tank will have it and can strike again.

Yeah Uronema can live without a fish host so breaking down tank appears to be the only option unfortunately. Always quarantine fish!! Also stay away from Chromis.

I have no experience with it, but just looking at pictures online the red blotchy areas on the fish does not look like any other disease. Beside perhaps bacterial infections. But the fact is Green Chromis....Perhaps it would be good to talk to somebody in charge at AW to alert them to this.

So before I "purge" the tank I'm going to try "fishKeeper" medicine to treat per fountains aquarium suggestion I'll update when I have any changes I'm hoping I'm wrong on the Uronema diagnosis.....

Last but not least, if you don't quarantine and most people actually don't, you will always run the risk of loosing new and your current fish after new additions.

I always quarantine for 3-4 weeks and typically don't prophylactically treat with anything except with Prazipro for internal parasites.

Some info about CP. I used it to treat a QT tank that had uronema. One anthias survived out of 3. Then i sterilized the whole QT so im not sure if it wouldve been fine after using CP.

I used NLS ich shield (which contains CP) during the treatment.

Some folks believe its safer to use CP acquired via a vet rx. Its believed that CP acquired outside of the US may not have 99% purity. I followed their advice and now have both CP from rx and NLS ich shield.

At this point, I cant tell you the difference though, but ive stopped using NLS until i run out of the vet rx. I treat all my fish prophylactically.
