      Sump: Bashsea or AA?

I saw the Bashsea booth at MACNA and their sumps caught my eye. Premium Aquatic has then on sale right now, $610 for their 48×15×16 Signature Series Sump. Do you think this is large enough for a 200 g tank? And do you think AA can build a better sump for a better price? I Know many locals recommend AA for any acrylic work.

I tried to buy this AA sump awhile back from a member, but he sold the entire setup before parting out.

Typically a sump is about a 3rd of tank volume, that gives room for gear and back siphon, so I agree w/ custom or even home made and go bigger than the one you are thinking about, I'd guess you'll wish you went bigger than that sooner than later.
There's a fine line between owning your tank, and having your tank own you!_________________________________________

I'm pretty sure you can get an awesome 48x16x15 sump for 600 if not less

I would go custom AA and bigger. Or a rk2 bin like I did !! Either way I'm sure you will have a nice set up. Good luck Brian

If I am able to put all equipment in garage like I'm hoping, then Dave, you are right in the go bigger idea since I won't need it to fit under the stand.

Do they make those half the size you had? I do like that idea.

Not half size but they do make one about 2/3 of the size of the one I have. Not sure where to find one but I will keep my eyes open for you.

John at AA just emailed a quote for that one in that link, just under $500 and that one was 48×18×18 . Sounds like I can go bigger and custom for same price as Bashsea..

John's build looks a lot better and stronger to me just saying but if you do a garage fish room I would go with the bins for sure
