      Custom Sump Tank

So I figure I talk to you guys about this custom sump tank that I decided to tackle. I been working with acrylic for a while and have never had a tank pop (knock on wood &#128556.
      I'll start off by giving you guys the dimensions of the tank H 20" x W 28 x L23

I decided to go to my local plastic store and buy some acrylic and not knowing what I purchased due to being in a hurry I bought Lexan (polypropylene)☹️.
Those who have not worked with it well it sucks 😡. This stuff does not fuse well... Don't get me wrong this stuff is strong 💪🏼 but difficult to fuse without killing yourself with the fumes (methylene chloride).

Well it popped , don't try silicon on this stuff it doesn't hold ether .

Being that I am $100 in I decided to go the extra mile to weld it together .

Weld? As in sonic welding? Or something else? Where do you get the tool(s)?

      Hope it works!

It's kinda like doing mig welding but without the gas. It's a glorified heater/ blower and you push the rod threw it. Sonic welding is done by frequency. I'll see if I can do a short video.

Check out my first bead I did. I was adjusting the temperature. The end part is when it was laying down nice.

Nice! Can't wait to see the final product.

I might need to hit you up for a custom build, if you down for that.

Yes on my spare time, I can do sumps or squared tanks under 80 gallons. I don't have my work bench to bend or round stuff 😑. $50-100 for labor plus materials ($25-200) depending on size.
