      Check out this oops...

So i'm changing my filter sock yesterday. My dosing pumps for my two part solution are running. But no liquid coming out. I think, that's weird. Didn't i just make 1 gal each last week? Thought maybe i had deposits in the tubing, since the containers of ca and alk looked full.

Several hrs later. Dosing pumps on again. ? And the bottles, now that i look are empty. Hence no drips.

Guess at some point i hit my timer and it switched from program mode to on continuous. Dumped a full gal of each part into the system over some previous period of time. Maybe in half the time at least it normally would, but i don't know when i hit the timer.

I've tested alk. It actually reports low? I'm kinda expecting ca++ to be sky high.

Haven't noticed much difference in the sps. But we'll see what happens. Gotta do a water change and see what my levels are at. There is alot of precipitate in the system though, i thought it came from a new additive i'm trying but i bet it's ca carbonate coming out. Could be low alk cause it's been running dry for an unknown period of time.

Oops. I'm not even mad at myself over this one. Wish me luck!

      Check out this oops...

So ca is pretty normal. 450-500 anyway. Alk down at about 7. Pretty weird.

I dose about 100 mls a day on the timer normally. 1.1 ml a min, this thing j guess ran continuous through 1 gal. 3785 mls. Thats like 37 doses in a week or so. I bet randy holmes could explain it to me. It must have crashed out of solution at some point.

      Wow! That is weird.

My wife did the same thing a while back and dumped most of the gallons in......I told her it was like putting our corals on steroids. Ha ha.

Luckily nothing major happened and the levels were back to normal soon.

A shocking discovery really. Super lucky so far, you can actually survive a screw up like that...

Wow. So the only consequence i see is some base receding. Probably from alk swing. But alk went from about 7 to 10 now. Maybe the colonies slowed down their growth, i don't know. This dose used to work, i dialed it down a bit so the alk doesn't keep raising. I wonder what my mag is at, i should test that too.

Can you hear the dosing pumps? I use the apex DOS unit and I can hear them running, so if I notice its going on for a long time I can check it

Yeah they come on every 3 hrs. I just didn't notice they were running full time for a couple days. The timer is always on program but i must have hit the button when replacing bottles.
