how to get rid of ick in 8 weeks method... please help

recently I had an outbreak in my 200g fowlr tank... all my fish died except 1 humu humu trigger... I'm going to do an 8 weeks fishless tank to get rid of ick... I tried google the 8 weeks method to see if I need to lower my sanity, raise the temp and no lights... but I cant confirm that anywhere... is this true to do? or is there a link somewhere... please advise and help.... thanks in advance...

In the pass I just remove all the fish and put them thur qurantine and run the dispaly tank like normal but without the fish for 8 -10 weeks. I am going to run my tank fishless again because of the recent move and a intro of a few new fish that spread ick throughout my system. Its going to be a long process. Good luck!

First - Are you sure it was Ich? The reason i ask is because Ich isnt a fast killer. If your fish died in short span, you could've been dealing with Velvet.

What symptoms did you see/notice?
