What lights do you have now?

Just a standard t5 hood but when I bought it I didn't know much about lighting so I thought it was a good buy
Though I did get a free hydrometer with it so not all was a lost

I have these pictures sorry lighting is still new to me though through those on the forum I am learning a lot someone was able to help me out a lot with lighting and understanding another offered me a good one for a really great price for led setup won't say much about it it's selfish but I want it and hopefully by tomorrow I can see if I have enough money to get it or not this community is really great I can't stop saying that 😄 on day one I received so much help and I've got to say you guys are all great people thank you for helping me out so much haha you guys I'm so glad I joined and will never regret joining I'm learning so much and meeting those like me who love corals and everything about marine life haha I went off topic but yeah here are the pictures

What size tank? Dimensions?
Ditch the hydrometer get a refractometer, more accurate.
And the eBay lights are commonly used with sucess. Plus a good t5ho set of bulbs. Great mixture of lighting for best color and growth.
Lol believe it or not when I bought the tank I was told it was 15g I went and measured it and it turns out it's 20g it's 30 across my hood only takes one bulb

Ya, that is not a T-5 fixture, looks like a standard t-8 fixture and is nowhere near enough light for a reef. That LED fixture you posted is a decent replacement for what you have. I know some members have had great success with the Chinese LED fixtures you can find on ebay also.

I'll suggest this ebay one.

I purchased a couple of these in past and it's the one I currently use with t5 supplementation. Works great. Dimmable controls borth both whites and blues
Aw shoot for the cash and phat PS3 I handed the guy for the hood I really wasted over $100 on that hood I'm trying to be positive and say to myself lesson learned won't be making the same mistake again but I am still confused on lighting even after so much reading online I think my best bet is to see how much I have at the end of the day if it's not enough I'll have to go with the the Mars Aqua
