      Hob refugiums!

      Hey guys,

I have a Nuvo 16 and am planning on adding a HOB refugium. I am looking into the CPR aquafuge of the Finnex breeder box. Is there anybody out there who have experience with this? Thanks!

I have always done it, 5 or 6 years now and had a small one on mt 5 gal too. . It works. I have one on my 30 cube right now. IAs I had a smaller hob fuge I keep it bare bottom and you have to clean it, because detritius builds up. I do it at wc time, it easy.

I have this one, it runs on an air pump. you can also use a small 12v pump for it in tank like a cpr. It was cheaper at the time and I think it had a larger volume.

I was looking into the finnex breeder box which comes with a water pump as well as the stingray LED all for 47. I want to put some macroalgae in it for nutrient export such as chaeto or other forms. Not sure what to add yet but just doing some research and hopefully getting tips for past experiences!

Thanks for the help! I was wondering if you have any links on starting one like what substrate to use, lighting requirements, or any valuable information to have a successful fuge going?
