Why not let them hatch and feed the fish?

I know this will sound really dumb but is gha green hair algae and do they eat anything else? I would like to hatch them for fun if nothing else but if I have no food I'll just end up effectively adding a clump of dead meat to my tank

Yes.. Sorry it's green hair algae.. And they will definitely need some to survive. I'm not sure they eat anything else to be honest ..
